I love kids parties... and with 3 children we've had quite a few over the last 10 years!
Our first 'School Party' was at a local Kid's Theatre watching The Gruffalo. The kids loved it and having the entertainment laid on is always a good move, particularly when you're dealing with a class of hyper 5 year old boys.
Having said that, the Stage production of The Gruffalo at Camp Bestival this year was fantastic. The kids and the adults were mesmerised. (Watch it here )
Over the years, we've had Clown Parties, Football parties, Bowling Parties & Fairy parties to name a few...
Entertaining the children yourself can be fun if the children are slightly older. Craft parties - particularly for girls - are great but for younger children or slightly older party-hardened kids, it can be hard work.

And then there's Pinatas... such a choice now. Even life-sized animals!
The kids love them and they look great. However, the kids do need to be supervised to avoid them hitting one another by mistake!
The last thing to consider is Party Bag gifts. With a little planning you can avoid the plastic bits & bobs that only ever end up in the bin.
